We are an increasingly diverse Faculty. We work in different areas, in different specialties and different disciplines. This means there are many opportunities to contribute to both our work and the overall goal to improve the health of the nation through physical activity.
Current Opportunities
As a Member of FSEM, we provide you with the opportunity to join one of our committee or working groups, each of which involve driving forward specific objectives within the specialty of Sport and Exercise Medicine.
Below is a list of the roles currently available to members at the Faculty.
A huge part of the Faculty’s work involves the development of the examinations available at the Faculty. To ensure we can maintain the excellent standards required to provide a high quality examination befitting of the SEM specialty, we require volunteers to support the question writing and standard setting of the examinations.
If you have recently passed any of the Diploma or specialty examinations and would like to support us with these examinations, please reach out to exams@fsem.ac.uk for more information.
An exciting opportunity has become available as we are looking to recruit a new lead for the Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM) Specialty Exam Part 1.
The SEM Specialty Exam Part 1 Lead should be a Fellow of the Faculty, a current FSEM examiner, and have prior experience with FSEM question writing and standard setting, including the Membership Part 1 examination.

We are looking for the new Chair of the Royal College of Physicians SEM Committee . This is an important role to ensure our key priorities are being recognised considered by RCP through our SEM committee where senior Officers from RCP attend. The Committee Chair will be as the liaison between the Royal College of Physicians and FSEM.

The Faculty are looking for a Clinical Lead for our new Physician Associates Short Life Working Group (SLWG). This lead will Chair the SLWG and will be responsible for setting objectives, leading meetings and reporting the progress of the group to the Faculty Council. The lead will also be responsible in selecting applicants to form the SLWG.
We will be shortly be recruiting for members to sit on the SLWG, so if that is of interest, please keep an eye out on this page.

An exciting opportunity has become available as we look to recruit a Chair for the new Team Care Committee for the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK.
The Chair of the Team Care Committee should be a Member or Fellow of the Faculty, with current or recent extensive experience on delivering team care services. The Chair must have previous leadership experience and be able to operate confidentially in leading the committee to implement the Faculty’s strategy.

As a Member of FSEM, we provide you with the opportunity to join one of our committee groups, each of which involve driving forward specific objectives within the specialty of Sport and Exercise Medicine.

Specific Working Groups
For specific project-based work, the Faculty often create working groups, either separately or as a sub-committee.
Moving Medicine
Our Moving Medicine team have developed a wide range of resources to support healthcare professionals and people living with long term conditions. As we develop and grow this initiative, the opportunities available to get involved will be advertised in the monthly newsletter and within your member portal.
Council
The Faculty Council members are elected for a period of four years. They include Members, Fellows and representatives from other faculties, colleges or organisations who play an active role in Committees, Working Parties and regular meetings.
